MATTHEW ROOKE

Matthew is a 12 time undefeated Australian Ballroom Champion and was ranked as high as 8 th in the World. As a competitor he was not just the best in Australia, but one of the best in the World. He represented Australia on multiple occasions at the World Games, World Championships, World Cups and Asian-Pacific Championships. Matthew retired from competitive dancing in 2014 to concentrate on teaching and adjudicating. Since then Matthew has been travelling the World teaching and judging at some of the World’s most prestigious competitions as well training couples in Australia.

Matthew has a passion for dancing that has seen him travel the world for 20 years to gain experience as a competitor against the World’s best dancers and continually build his knowledge learning from the World’s best teachers. Now that Matthew is back in Australia and based in Melbourne he wants to pass on all of this experience and knowledge to students and help to build the level of competitive dancing in Australia. He has already had great success as a coach with involvement in training Australian & National Champions in Professional Open, Amateur Open, Youth Under 21 Open, Junior Under 16 Open, Juvenile Under 13 Open, Masters Over 35 Open and Masters 2 Over 50 Open categories.
